Valeria Duque-Villegas
Valeria is passionate about equitable and sustainable futures, cities, and the role of multi-scale solutions. With a background in architecture, Valeria champions design as a problem solver for all environments from watersheds to window gardens. She believes in participatory design, ancestral knowledge, and the great value of building resilient communities as the means of creating healthier, more equitable futures. With a master’s degree in Urban Design from Carnegie Mellon University and an architecture degree from Universidad del Valle in Colombia, Valeria’s experience in competitions, architectural drafting, construction management, landscape, and planning have honed a unique perspective that she brings to every project.
Valeria uses analysis and graphic tools to engage stakeholders with an inclusive approach. She contributes to community planning efforts, parks master plans, housing research, and design for resilience. On days off Valeria spends time in the sun, playing ultimate frisbee, biking, running, and walking.
