Position Overview
evolveEA is responding to an increased and sustained demand and interest in sustainability services.
We seek a Building Performance Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team to support and manage securing green building certifications, as well as participate in sustainability strategy for buildings, organizations, campuses and communities. We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and detail oriented team member who understands the ins and outs of green building design, construction and operations. This position is an opportunity to shape green buildings and sustainability consulting projects that are socially equitable, resilient, and environmentally sustainable.Â
The Building Performance Analyst is responsible for helping determine appropriate sustainability goals for building inception, design, construction and operations; managing green building projects seeking certification under rating systems, particularly USGBC LEED, but also with exposure to Living Building Challenge, WELL, WELL Health Safety Rating, Net Zero and Energy Star certifications. The position will use evolveEA’s body of successfully submitted and certified projects as a resource and will work with our ongoing district planning and sustainability work. The individual will report to the Principal level and must be a quick learner, collaborative, and have strong quantitative skills.Â

The nationally recognized Building Performance Studio strives to shift practices in project expectations and delivery towards low carbon and healthy environments. We work with organizations who are expanding the definition of best practices and who welcome innovative goals and approaches. Our BPS is the Pittsburgh Region’s foremost green building and sustainability consultancy. Core Responsibilities
- Write narratives and review submittals
- Visit construction sites to review and document progress.
- Help establish project sustainability goals and participate in and lead design workshops.Â
- Communicate with rating organizations regarding questions, reviews, and rulings
- Utilize tools such as Portfolio Manager, LEED User, and LEED Online
- Evaluate and oversee energy models, lighting models, and other engineering models
- Research and understand current green building design and construction standards
- Actively learn about sustainability best practices
- Write summaries of work for internal and external promotional and educational efforts
- Generally take part in and nurture evolveEA’s internal office cultureÂ
- Contribute to the writing of proposals
- Write and evaluate Pre and Post Occupancy EvaluationsÂ
- Help calculate firm-wide and project environmental impact
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience in LEED management and documentation
- LEED Accredited Professional or on a path to achieving LEED AP
- Understanding of the design and construction process and industry
- Understanding of the various LEED rating systems and desire to learn more
- Accurate, clear, detail-oriented, proactive, organized, self-starter
- Desire to promote and encourage sustainability
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt across roles, scales, and project phases in a small, collaborative firm environment
- Accredited degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Planning, Engineering, or a related field
(Equivalent professional experience may be considered. Spring 2026 graduates will be considered) - Proficiency in the following software applications:
- Google Suite including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides
- Microsoft 365 Products including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
- Virtual meeting softwares including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in LEED management and documentationÂ
- Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, planners, and other technical consultants
- Project Management experience
- Experience with business development and managing writing of proposal
- Understanding of Passive House conceptsÂ
- Ability to perform energy modelsÂ
- Have performed LEED reviewsÂ
- Understanding of ESG reportingÂ
- Public speaking skillsÂ
- Employee management experienceÂ
- Understanding of building mechanical, electric and plumbing systemsÂ
- CEM training and/or ability to perform energy auditsÂ
- Perform Life Cycle Assessments and Greenhouse Gas Inventories
- Experience working with Energy StarÂ
- Expertise in resilience, health and wellness, and/or district-scale sustainabilityÂ
- Experience contributing to or managing climate action plans, community or campus-wide sustainability projects, and/or organizational strategic sustainability projects
- Masters Degree in quantitative or sustainability related field including but not limited to Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Sustainable Business (or commensurate experience)Â
- Past attendance at conferences related to our work
- WELL AP, EcoDistricts AP, Living Futures Accredited (LFA), or other design + construction professional credentialsÂ
- Proficiency in the following software applications:
- Autodesk Products including AutoCAD and Revit
- Adobe Products including  Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignÂ
- LEED OnlineÂ
- One Click LCAÂ
- Daylight simulation software
- Green Badger
- Cove Tool
What Success Looks Like
In the first year, success in this role means:Â
- Effectively supporting and managing a portfolio of green building certification projects, particularly USGBC LEED
- Ensuring timely and accurate documentation, submittal reviews, and communication with project teams and rating organizations
- Establishing and driving project sustainability goals
- Becoming an integral member of the evolveEA team
- Learning and applying current green building design standards and best practices to support the evolveEA mission
