evolve 2024 Year In Review

Year In Review 2024

2024 was a year of growth and change for evolveEA. As this transformative year comes to a close, we’re taking a look back at the highlights and reflecting on the year we’ve had, and looking forward to so much more to come:

Our Team

In 2024, evolve expanded our staff at an unprecedented rate by adding seven new employees this year as well as hosting four awesome interns! You can read more about our newest employees below, and the rest of our amazing team here. But we aren’t stopping there: we have two additional positions currently posted, and are excited to hire more hardworking designers, planners, architects, and professionals in 2025. We were proud to once again be named an AIA Pennsylvania EPiC firm this year, showing our commitment to cultivating emerging professionals.  Keep an eye out on our careers page for an opportunity to be a part of this diverse and vibrant team in the new year!

Our Space

With the addition of our new staff, we outgrew our office space and had to sadly bid farewell to 6020 Broad Street, our home for 7 years. But we were excited to expand into our new home just a few blocks away at The Detective Building. Since our move in June, we’ve had the opportunity to host many groups, from Pitt’s Architecture Summer Design Studio, to AIA Fellows, to Architecture Week programming, to our own 20th Anniversary party. We’ve settled in well to our new home and are looking forward to sharing our space with new community groups in 2025. Check back at our events page for more details as programming is announced!

Our Influence

At evolve, we shape the future of sustainability, and our impact was felt far and wide this year. In 2024, our employees were proud to share their knowledge and expertise with communities big and small. Whether leadership roles on AIA’s Strategic Council, the Pennsylvania Climate Action Plan and MPact Steering Committee, having papers accepted to international conferences, or through board service with Riverlife, evolve staff are paving the way for a sustainable future.

Our Work

With our rapidly changing world, the work that we do at evolve is more important now than ever. In 2024, evolve certified three new projects as LEED Gold, saw the first affordable housing units from the Bridger View Neighborhood project in Bozeman, Montana come to market, and our work with Allegheny County was awarded a planning award from APA PA for the Allegheny Together program. We worked on many more projects this year, from WELL Certifications, to climate action plans, to transit oriented development – and we’re excited for all the work that we’ll accomplish in 2025.

None of what we’ve achieved this year would have been possible without the support of our clients and community. Thank you for the part you’ve played in our success this year, and join us in 2025 for all the success that is still to come.
