Buffalo Rain Check 2.0

Buffalo’s stormwater challenge is to protect its water resources and public health as its aging combined sewer network continues to collect and treat increasing amounts of rain and melting snow.

“Completing the Loop” Wins AIA National Award for Urban Design

evolve environment :: architecture and Riverlife were honored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the “Completing the Loop” plan, which outlines a 10-year vision to connect, enhance, and expand Pittsburgh’s network of riverfront parks, trails, and public green spaces.

Mussels Matter: Exploring Restoration Design for Freshwater Mussels

Designers should embrace an expanded role in aquatic wildlife restoration to link our natural and built environments, benefitting multiple species and better connecting people to nature. When thinking about ecological assets, the freshwater mussel should be at the forefront of the discussion.

Riverlife Pittsburgh

evolveEA was engaged by Riverlife to lead the Completing the Loop effort, identifying projects and programs needed to complete and enhance the loop of parks and trails around Pittsburgh's riverfronts. The report will guide Riverlife in carrying out their initial vision for a connected network of green spaces accessible to all.

Bridger View Redevelopment Plan

evolveEA led the design process for Bozeman's Bridger View site redevelopment to create workforce housing that can become an example for future projects in the region. We envision a diverse community where people of various income levels, stages of life, and backgrounds can afford to purchase a home. The 63 homes are clustered around common areas, resulting in moderate densities with spaces for community life.

Etna Ecodistrict Education & Planning

The Etna EcoDistrict is building on the successes and methods of neighboring ecodistricts and participating in the Triboro Ecodistrict. evolveEA designed a full year community education curriculum that explores key ecodistrict concepts of Water, Food, Energy, Air, Mobility, and Equity.

Living Cities Masterplan

Like many post-industrial communities, the Larimer neighborhood has seen massive amounts of disinvestment in its residents, organizations and infrastructure. In collaboration with the community, evolveEA articulated a “living cities” vision that examined ways that energy independence, net zero water use, and localized food economies could make the existing community more resilient and attract and sustain equitable development.
