SmartMoves Connections
SmartMoves Connections is the regional transit vision for the ten counties of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Building on SPC’s SmartMoves long range plan, evolveEA developed novel land use analysis tools to identify transit-supportive clusters throughout the region where new multimodal transit hubs could enable improved regional connectivity.
These multimodal hubs will become the foci of a new network of streamlined multimodal corridors. Consulting with transit operators of all sizes, evolveEA made targeted recommendations for the SmartMoves Connections final report that enable coordination across county jurisdictions and strategically leverage federal and state sources of funding. Multimodal hubs can be implemented in five types of locations. This typology allows the team to provide consistent recommendations that are context- sensitive across the 10-county region.
Public Engagement
evolveEA created an interactive storymap to share design concepts and gather feedback from the community. Over 200 viewers completed the survey questions and submitted comments that influenced the final report.
