LEGO Headquarters

Home to one of the world’s leading play materials, the LEGO Headquarters in Billund, Denmark achieved LEED Gold certification at its state-of-the-art campus. C.F. Møller Architects designed the space with the core values of “Imagination, Fun, Creativity, Caring, Learning, and Quality” in mind. At over 580,000 SF, the campus comfortably houses offices, a fitness studio, cinema, park, health clinic, and accommodations for visiting employees. evolveEA provided targeted LEED consulting, helping the project achieve LEED Gold for New Construction certification.

The LEGO Group has a strong focus on sustainability and this new workspace incorporates many features that live up to this value. Green roofs at the LEGO headquarters collect rainwater and mitigate stormwater runoff, indigenous plants support surrounding wildlife, and interior plants provide “green” partitions between open workspaces. More than 1.4 million pounds of CO2 emissions were avoided during construction by using special gypsum fibreboard, and over 11,000 pounds of LEGO waste was upcycled into outdoor furniture. Additionally, a photovoltaic solar array provides direct renewable electricity to the campus.
