Planning for Sustainability in the Era of COVID and Climate Change

To help celebrate Earth Day, Purdue University Campus Planning and Sustainability will host the “Planning for Sustainability in the Era of COVID and Climate Change” virtual panel discussion on Tuesday (April 20).

The event will include a panel of experts in climate change research and sustainable building. It will feature a conversation on the future of planning and sustainable design in the context of large-scale, disruptive forces, including a global pandemic and climate change. The panel also will touch on Purdue’s ongoing sustainability initiatives.

The following individuals will make up the panel:

–  Jeffrey Dukes, professor of forestry and natural resources and biological sciences and director of the Purdue Climate Change Research Center.

–  Christine Mondor, FAIA, LEED AP, EcoDistricts AP, principal at evolveEA.

–  José Almiñana, PLA, FASLA, SITES AP, LEED AP, principal at Andropogon.

–  Michael J. Gulich, AIA, LEED AP, LFA, director of campus planning and sustainability and University architect.

The virtual event will be available via WebEx and is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. April 20. Registration is required. Upon registration, participants will be sent a link to join the WebEx meeting.
